Client

City of Montreal

Needs

Create an exhibition highlighting the activities of SITE (Department of Infrastructure, Transport and Environment) on the theme of the environment. The stand had to be easily reused for further exhibitions.

Challenges

  • Attract personnel and visitors from the Brennan Street building and explain the efforts taken by the City of Montreal regarding environmental issues;
  • Re-use an existing structure and non-recyclable banners, select local suppliers and an eco-friendly and non-toxic communication support;
  • Move toward the goal of zero waste.

Solutions

  • Re-use a metallic structure found among the city’s existing inventory;
  • Re-use PVC banners recuperated from a cultural event;
  • Print information panels using a PVC-free film (poly-acetate and vinyl) mounted on 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard;
  • Reduce energy consumption using low-consumption lighting;
  • Improve versatility by using magnets to display and replace modular content.

Results

An attractive and informative kiosk, with a considerably lower ecological footprint. This kiosk was adapted and re-used several times, namely for the Salon national de l’environnement.
